Beto Fame × Da Terra — THE PROJECT
Art, like food, feels most alive when it is shared and experienced. At Da Terra, this residency makes that possible. Originally from São Paulo with an Italian background, Rafael Cagali has spent his career constructing a culinary language inspired by his mixed heritages as well as his international experiences. Beto Fame’s paintings operate on precisely the same logic. Born in the northern outskirts of Rio de Janeiro and now based in London, Beto builds images that hold multiple geographies in tension: the tropical and the urban, the remembered and the reconstructed.
The collaboration comes from a shared way of thinking. Two Brazilian artists began in Brazil and have developed their work further in a city as vast and culturally layered as London, shaping their own language through that movement between places. Introduced through a mutual friend, the connection was immediate. At Da Terra, this approach is expressed through a refined and confident cuisine, recognised at the highest level. In Fame’s paintings, it appears through carefully balanced compositions that hold contrast and detail in quiet tension. Together, they create a natural dialogue between what is on the plate and what is on the wall.
We invite you to take a moment to look more closely. The paintings are part of the experience, and like the dishes, reveal themselves over time. If something catches your attention, feel free to ask, we would be delighted to share more.
