Beto constructs abstract compositions that reveal tensions between the natural and the constructed, the organic and the artificial.

Beto Fame is a visual artist, painter, muralist, and architect currently based in London. His work explores the relationship between urban space, nature, and human perception, drawing on his background in architecture and his lived experience in the northern outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, where he was born and raised. His artistic practice is grounded in the observation of the urban environment as a living, layered organism. Through the collection of images, materials, memories, and sensations, Beto constructs abstract compositions that reveal tensions between the natural and the constructed, the organic and the artificial. Initially recognized for his large-scale murals, he developed a strong technical foundation through spray painting and urban interventions.

This direct engagement with public space was fundamental to his transition into studio-based work, where he now focuses primarily on painting and collage. His visual language incorporates philosophical, Brazilian, and Latin American references, reconfigured into symbolic and poetic forms. His works emerge from the layering of visual planes and textures, reflecting the fragmentation and fluidity of the contemporary landscape. Rather than depicting the city, Beto reimagines it creating compositions that invite reflection on the coexistence of chaos and structure, memory and transformation. Beto Fame’s practice stands at the intersection of street art, architecture, and contemporary painting, offering a critical and poetic perspective on urban experience in Latin America and beyond.
